Hanging out in the shade

These photos are from last week but I just got them from Russ tonight. I thought there were some good ones so I wanted to put them up. We went to the public market last weekend, and the other day too, for fresh veggies. We passed on the meat, hanging in the air with flies all around. It was so hot there. It is open air but no breeze at all. Poor Soren had sweat just rolling down his cheeks.

There is also a photo from the roof top patio. It has a couple of hammocks for lounging. I seriously have considered sleeping up there lately. It is so hot. The landlord said he would get an air conditioner but then decided that we probably didn't need it since it was "cooling down." He thought is was getting cold at night!!!!! There are not enough exclamation marks for that comment. I told him I didn't agree and that he has been in Mexico too long (he is actually from Florida). So hopefully we will get some relief soon!!

We also went to the beach tonight and the guys went out in the waves. It was pretty intimidating at first but they got out there anyway. More than I can say for myself. Soren and I played in the tide. Mae of course wanted to put things in her mouth. We still had a good time...

Well, time for bed I guess. Thanks for reading!

Back in Mexico

We made it back to the land of the hot and humid yesterday. Lots of traveling for those little kiddos these last few days. They did very well on the last set of flights.

Our time in Montana was a mix of emotions. We got to see all of the family but everyone was having a hard time with it. It makes me sad to see my grandma continue to do everyday things like he is still there. She started to get out their vitamins for the day and made two piles, one for her and one for him. She caught herself about half way into it before she realized he wasn't there. That is hard for me to see.

Thank you for all of your prayers and thoughts for my family during this time. I couldn't believe how many people sent cards to my grandma and how many people were at his funeral.

We were all excited to get back in the pool today and cool down. We also went to a restaurant from a recommendation by a neighbor here. It was pretty good for the price!! We went down to the beach afterward to watch the surfers.

Luke and Russ are going back at it in the morning. I don't know if I am going to go but I need to put some photos up!! Talk at you later....

Super Glue

I had to add this picture because it goes along with a good story. One we won't want to forget.

We were at Luke's brothers house the other day and Mae was being her normal self. Touching anything she can and putting things in her mouth. She can bite through the wildest things. Well, she found a tube of super glue and bit right through it! Thankfully she started to cry right away and we were able to get to her before anything bonded together. She had it all over her lips, mouth, clothes, and Luke's hands.

This photo was from a good soak in Aunt Angel's kitchen sink. Most of it had come off by the next morning. Enjoy...

Heading Home

This morning my Grandpa passed away so we are all headed back to Montana for the next week. It is a hard thing to see him go but he is restored now and no longer in pain. His family loved him so much that it is very hard for us to not have him with us. I can't wait to see him again in heaven!!! I get the biggest smile on my face when I think of him there but at the same time tears fall off my cheeks.

We had a nice morning today at the local market. I don't think they get too many tourists there. We got lots of looks. Thankfully Alisson speaks spanish very well so we were able to buy a couple things. Lots of great fruits and vegetables.

Luke and Russ are at the beach right now trying to hook up with some surf lessons. Hope they don't come back to worked over!!

My mom said it ways 24 degrees in Great Falls. We didn't bring anything for that kind of weather!! It is going to be another shock to our systems when we get there tomorrow night. Anyway....don't know how much I will be writing while we are there. I'm sure you don't need any funeral details. Check back in another week!

Getting it all together

Luke is away from the computer so I dashed over to write something really quick. Probably don't have time to post any photos this time. Sorry Jer, you will have to wait a little bit longer to get a picture of all seven of us in the bug.

The kids and I spent the morning at the pool and Luke joined us this afternoon for a trip to the beach. The closest beach is about three blocks away but you have to walk down a ton of stairs to get there. It's not so bad on the way down but coming up was steep and hot!! The kids had a great time digging in the sand. Mae actually stayed close to us and didn't wander.

We are having a good time so far and trying to get the lay of the land. I think Russ and Luke are going to try some surfing tomorrow.

Well, trying to stay cool down here. I will write more later....

We are in Mexico

We arrived in Mexico yesterday afternoon. It was quite the journey getting here. When we left Sandpoint it was snowing and we passed through a little blizzard on the way to the airport. We spent the next 24 hours traveling. Whoa!! We went through three different airports and had to go through security at all three. What a pain when you have two small children and all their stuff. One of the pictures is of "camp" at the Mexico City airport.

It is so beautiful here. The place we are staying is in a little community so there are 10 little houses that all surround the common pool. Most of them are rental places to tourists. We met some people from Nelson, BC, which isn't too far from Sandpoint. They have kids the same age and gender as Soren and Mae!

We have eaten some of the local food and it is all very good. We actually had pizza tonight! We got a rental car which is an old style Volkswagen Beetle but made in 2004. I'll include a picture later. All seven of us fit in it. We actually went to the grocery store tonight and fit all seven of us and three grocery carts full of food!!! Quite amazing.

Well, it's late and I need to sleep while the kids are. Love everyone so much and miss you all.

Clean the beaters

We made a cake the other day and the kids helped me "clean up." Just thought these pictures were too cute.
Who doesn't love a good beater with cake batter on it? I'm pretty sure the cake came out very tasty.

The dog didn't even get any batter this time! We'll have to work on the sharing a little more....

I had to post a picture of myself to show off my new hair do and my new skirt. The hair is for the trip to Mexico. I wanted something easy to take care of.

I made the skirt a couple weeks ago and liked it so much I made two more. Pretty fun!! I have been sewing little things here and there lately. If I was more blog savy (and didn't have two little kids at my feet all the time) I would take pictures and post them. So this is it for now.

We are pretty much ready for the big trip tomorrow. I guess if we don't have something we will do without it. I am ready to get out of the clouds and rain and into the sunshine. I will have to read this entry when we are tired of the sun and heat in Mexico.

Please feel free to e-mail us and call us on our regular phone, 208-255-7404.

Here we go.

So this is the first entry to our blog. I set it up to keep people who are interested up on what is going on with us. Mostly for our upcoming trip to Mexico. I guess I'm going to give this thing a try!! Thanks for looking.
